IECRM Hosts the 3rd Annual Job Fair for the Energy, Electrical and Construction Industry – 15 Companies Were in Attendance Offering More Than 100 Jobs

DENVER, Colorado — July 9, 2015 — On Wednesday, June 24th, Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) a school for electricians (www.iecrm.org) opened its doors to host the third annual job fair for the energy, electrical and construction industry. “With the construction industry booming in Colorado, and the new electrical code standards being upgraded, there is a high demand for workers in all positions in the energy, electrical and construction industry. It feels great to help connect job seekers to quality employers and vice versa, and to witness the positive difference in the lives of people,” said IECRM Marketing Coordinator, Katie Shobe. “At least one company hired seven people on-the-spot and several candidates are still being considered!”

The recent surge in construction projects, not only left many Colorado and Wyoming contractors scrambling to find enough apprentices and licensed electricians but also created a demand for many other supporting positions in the construction industry. IECRM’s third annual Job Fair focused on the effort to fill the not only “skilled labor” gap within the Rocky Mountain energy, electrical, and construction industry, but also to help fill several other supporting positions.

IECRM promoted the event with billboards, online advertising, community outreach, and with the assistance of the Denver Office of Economic Development, multiple Colorado workforce centers, and Emily Griffith Technical College.
